oyinoluwa Abdulkareem, who was allegedly abducted last week Friday in Owo, Ondo State, has reportedly escaped from the kidnappers’ den. Moyinoluwa was kidnapped by a motorcyclist, popularly called okada rider, on her way to the bank after sitting for the NECO examination. She was alleged to have asked the okada rider to take her to one of the new generation banks, but ended up being drugged and kidnapped. By the time she regained consciousness, she found herself inside a building without light in a thick forest. It was gathered that Moyinoluwa was unable to see those inside the building but was able to hear the voices of other captors and one of the kidnappers who was stationed there to guard the entrance. Vanguard gathered that the girl was found on Sunday evening at Idanre Road in Akure after her escape. Narrating to newsmen how she beat the security mounted at the entrance of the building where they were kept, Moyinoluwa said it took courage for her to kick the door which gave way. According to her: “My escape was a divine intervention. I was only being courageous. I utilised a slim chance to beat my abductors when they forgot to lock the door of the room where all the victims were kept.” Moyinsola said she trekked from the hideout only to find herself in Idanre Road. She said that that the motorcyclist handed her over to his collaborators, who were waiting in a car after he was given an envelope. The victim said when she regained consciousness, she met two pregnant women and two young boys, whom she suspected were equally kidnapped. Moyinoluwa said her abductors drove the car along Akure Road, diverted to Ilu Abo and drove straight to a footpath where they alighted and trekked to the building inside the forest. According to her, they trekked for over 30 minutes before they got to the isolated building inside the forest. Moyinoluwa has since reunited with her family in Owo. The Police image maker, Femi Joseph, said investigation on the kidnap of the student had commenced. According to Joseph, a special squad of the force are on the trail of the suspected kidnappers, adding that they would soon be apprehended. He advised members of the public to always be security conscious, especially when they want to board commercial vehicles and motorcycles. It would be recalled that in a bid to guard against the increasing rate of kidnapping, the state government recently registered all okada operators across the state.
