The owner of the company, Al Ferguson, wrote he was at the hospital with Sotomayor’s family and felt “empty” upon hearing the news.
“One of the saddest days of my life,” he wrote on Facebook. “I will try to start to find the good in all of this.”
Many friends took to Facebook to pay tribute to Sotomayor, who one person called “TopHat Eddie.”
“I’m so sad and my heart is broken,” friend Christian Wilson Cservak wrote. “The [world] lost an amazing guy. So full of life and love. [May] he rest in peace always.”
