Robbers who allegedly killed Ecobank manager arrested

The Kasoa police in the Central Region have arrested two people suspected to have murdered the operations manager of the Cantonments branch of Ecobank Ghana, Seth Kweku Akyea, during a robbery attack at his residence in Kasoa in 2015, the Daily Guide has reported.
The suspects are Christopher Afreh, aka Indomie aka Shadow, 30  and Abdulai Gariba, aka Rebel Leader, 33, the man who allegedly pulled the trigger, the report said.

Their accomplice, Wisdom Adokpo, 19, is currently serving a three-year term in prison for robbery while another, Kojo Joe aka Hitler, is reportedly at large.

The two suspects, upon their arrests, reportedly told the police that they went there to rob and succeeded in robbing the deceased of an amount of GHȻ400.00.

Seth Akyea was shot dead by three unidentified people at about 9pm in August last year. He had arrived home from work at Kasoa New Market in the Central Region.

He was reportedly getting down from his car when the robbers attacked him.

Akyea was with a female passenger, whom the robbers ordered to go into the house, according to a report by citifmonline.com.

They then requested for the car keys and marched the banker to the passenger side.

They reportedly engaged him in a conversation before shooting him dead and taking the car away.

The police, however, retrieved the car later, according to the report.
