Former president Goodluck Jonathan has surprisingly left his country home in Otuoke barely hours after news of his return to Bayelsa was made public. According to a report on Sahara Reporters, Jonathan’s departure from Otuoke was discovered after some of his kinsmen thronged his Otuoke home this Thursday afternoon, June 2, only to be told he had left for Port Harcourt. It was gathered that some security men were seen turning visitors back at the ex-president’s residence.
While some sources have said he left for Port Harcourt en route Abuja, some have said those destinations may have been publicized to throw interested parties off his track – It was alleged that Jonathan had gone on exile to evade arrest from the EFCC for allegations of corrupt practices that occured during his administration, which he denied.
