The roofing of the Effia-Nkwanta regional hospital at Takoradi in the Western region has caved in, causing the death of a pregnant in during an ongoing blood transfusion.The development has caused a temporary hold up on the ongoing operation as medical officers on the patient are left distraught by the accident. Meanwhile, the 31-year-old pregnant woman is feared to have lost her life due to the unavailability of blood transfusion equipment or ‘giving set’ at the hospital.Meanwhile, authorities at the hospital are investigating the development as the ministry of health and the regional health directorate is yet to comment on the development.
